Healing Childhood Wounds

Abuse

Childhood Abuse can be physical, mental, emotional and/or spiritual and is destructive. It creates so much pain that at some point we detach from ourselves, reject what we think is ‘wrong’ with us and learn various coping mechanisms to deal with the experience. We shut down our own source of power and truth and reach to outside sources validate and identify who we are. As we grow older, we often feel broken, damaged, confused, angry, guilty and disconnected . Abuse, whether it be physical, emotional, mental or spiritual is violence. Abuse violates and invades our very soul and leaves us with many challenges as we move through life. Victims of trauma, violence or abuse can feel overwhelmed by feelings of fear, anger, or helplessness and the ability to function in life can be significantly impaired. The wounds from trauma and abuse are very deep and significantly impact our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, behavior, choices and personality.

Safe, thoughtful and supportive care is imperative to heal this suffering while understanding and guidance helps you return back to the true essence that has been shut down in order to cope with the pain. I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment for the healing of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual injuries. Childhood Wounds

We all have had challenging childhood experiences and emotional wounds, varying in intensity for each of us. We also bring with us, through our lives, aspects of these past experiences, stored in different areas of our consciousness. The result of the unresolved trauma is unique to each of us, depending on our individual personalities, perceptions, attitude, outside influences, coping mechanisms and support systems. Without intervention and resolution, we remain attached to these unhealed wounds and they persistently represent our perceptions of ourselves, our lives and our ‘truth’ on some level. These childhood wounds will, if unresolved, be our filter through which we experience, think and feel.

Whether the wounds are intensely severe and deeply entrenched in our psyche or simply creating blocks in our ability to fulfill the greatest potential of our being, we need someone who can patiently, confidently and without judgment help us, step by step through the healing process. Transformative Counseling provides just that experience.
