Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy uses verbal exploration of our beliefs, thoughts, feelings, assumptions and attitudes. It is powerful for the healing process to understand the way in which we developed certain perceptions and beliefs about ourselves and of life. We have patterns of thinking that have been deeply anchored for many years and it is important to recognize these to make the changes necessary in our lives. We have many thoughts and feelings that have no basis in the present – they relate to past trauma and early experiences but they do not relate to who we are now. And yet, we continue to address our experiences now as if we were in the past. Exploring how and why these patterns continue to have power in our lives is extremely life changing and helps to set a new foundation of thinking that represents who we choose to be today.
